Harry Potter bookshop

3/21/22- Today we decided to ditch the car and do a walking tour of Porto. First we walked down to a big church that is famous for their blue tiles. The tiles are similar to the Islamic tiles in Morocco because the Moorish people brought the art up with them when they immigrated to Spain. We walked over to a bakery and got Pastel de Nata, which is a little custard filled cake/pastry bread. Portual is known for them and I thought they were really good! I would give them an 8/10, if you're ever in Portugal you should definetly try them. I liked the chocolate one best but we tried apple, pineapple, almond, and one that the baker said was red berry. After the pastries we continued our walk to a bell tower and walked up what felt like 1,000 steps to get to the top. Once at the top it was so worth it though, the height offered an amazing view of Porto and outlined what the different sights were and how big they were compared to other famous buildings. After the tower we walked to a fancy bookstore where they had Harry Potter written in Spanish, Portugese, English, and German! I guess it makes sense why J.K Rowling is a billionaire. The bookstore had beautiful carved wood and bright red stairs that led to a second level. Primed by the many Harry Potter books my family and I decided it reminded us of Fred and Georges trick shop in Harry Potter. After the bookshop we walked down to the river where we took a boat ride along the river. The multicolored buildings made for a pretty ride. We then took a funicular up the hill to walk across the Dom Luis bridge. After our long day we got ice cream at a little gelateria then went back home and promptly fell asleep.
