Third times the charm?

3/23/22- Today we woke up in Lisbon and went to the airport to catch our flight to Maderia, a little island off Spain. After figuring out where our gate was and boarding the plane we took off and flew to Maderia. The flight had a lot of turbulence and right as we were about to land (like legit 10 feet from touch down) the plane zoomed back upward and did a huge circle while the pilot explained that the wind was too strong to land. After flying around the island in more windy turbulence we tried a second time to land only to pull up again and fly over to different island to refuel. On our way back to Maderia 5 people within a 2 row radius from me started throwing up, praying, or screaming every time we hit a bout of turbulence. FINALLY the plane was able to land and everyone burst out clapping and cheering. After getting through the airport and renting a little stick shift Fiat we found our Air B&B and then went and got dinner at a restaurant with a pretty ocean view.
