French church..es

3/13/22- Today we left our hotel and drove through a downpour to church where we 1) did not understand a single word being spoken and 2) were only given the bread of the sacrament. However, the spirit was definitley present and I enjoyed listening to the congregation sing the hymns in french. After church we hurried out into the pouring rain and drove to the French resistance museum. We learned about the resistance that took place in Limoges. We learned that one of the justifications that the Nazis took for brutally massacring the town of Ouradour-sur-Glade was that there was a big population of French resistors in Limoges, the next town over. Propaganda featuring the burning town of Ourador was spread throughout Europe advertising the supposed power of the Germans. After the resistance museum we went to a cathedral with beautiful stained glass and a mixture of gothic and high-gothic architecture. Then we walked through the adorable town center that looked like we time traveled back to the 16th century. Afterwards we continued on to a pottery museum that featured many different kinds of china, we chose our favorite/s which kept getting renewed as we went about the rooms. After the museum we drove to Pargueux and found our air b&b.
