Cousin Jabesh

3/2/22- Today we woke up and had a great breakfast at the fancy Riad (hotel). After breakfast we drove over to the Dades gorge and walked through olive groves and a Berber village with a local guide. He showed us the different kinds of plants and trees growing thorughout the village and explained that each family has their own section of forest/jungle where they plant their crops. We met up with Abdul and he drove us to a scarve shop where we bought turban scarves and got free henna on our way to the Sahara. My henna actually rubbed off on my face and other hand so that was not good but it was still nice. After our stop at the scarve shop my mom wanted to visit a Nomad family so Abdul drove off the side of the road and we ventured out to a tent where a family was living. They had a ton of baby goats that we played with and my mom got pictures with the people. We finished the drive into the Sahara and took pictures at the sand dunes. They are huge!! We arranged to take a camel ride up the dunes to watch the sunset. We all named our camels, mine was Jabesh, my moms was Jasmine, Ezras was Shaq, and Mia named hers Simon. We took a ton of really cool pictures with the camels and then rode them up and watched the sunset from the peak of a sand dune. Afterwards we went back down and had a classic Moroccan tagine dinner where a cat decided to join our table and meow throughout the night. The people at the camp that we were staying at then performed a drumming performance for us on bongos.
