Catapults and caves

3/15/22- Today we went to the Lacroux cave where people 20,000 years ago painted depictions of animals all across the tunnels. This cave was accidentally found by 4 boys in 1940 when their dog fell into a hole that led to the cave. Throughout the cave there is only 1 painting of a human hidden in a 6 foot deep trench. The paints used by the homosapiens to make these pictures are all natural minerals or plants from the area. The biggest animal is a bull that measures 16 feet! After the caves we drove over to a castle that in very careful detail outlined how catapults were made and used. I learned they are much harder to fire than I had originally thought. Many models of catapults were scattered throughout the castle and it's grounds. We then drove to Domme, being here in the off-season has many perks however a lot of the places we have wanted to see, including Domme, have been mostly closed or in preperation for summer. Since nothing was open we wandered around the town and found a crepe shop that sold salted caramel crepes, it also had a really cute cat that sat by the window.
